(MIAMI, Nov. 13, 2014) – On Monday, November 10, 2014, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's (MDFR) Medical Director, Dr. Marc Grossman, was named "2014 Man of the Year" by the South Florida Shomrim Society.

Dr. Grossman received this prestigious award for his dedication to improving emergency medical care across South Florida and for his 25 years of service starting as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in New York, then becoming a renowned emergency physician who now leads more than 2,000 EMT's, paramedics, and emergency responders from MDFR.

Dr. Grossman joined MDFR in July 2011, as the Assistant Medical Director and was promoted to Medical Director on July 22, 2013.  Dr. Grossman provides medical oversight, training, and quality assurance for the emergency responders who provide lifesaving care across the second largest service area in the nation through 67 fire-rescue stations housing 140 rescue, suppression, and specialty units.

The South Florida Shomrim Society is an organization dedicated to improving the service provided by all public safety providers including law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other emergency responders.
